Modification of molecular surface structures

Description
Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) is currently used to study structures of surfactant and polymers at the hydrophobic and hydrophilic surfaces in liquid and in air.

Implications
Structure of the molecular assemblies at the surface is important in surface cleaning, CMP processes, and wet separation techniques. Such structures can be also employed as templates for synthesis of nanoscale materials and coatings.
