Nanoelectrode
Description
Pt disk electrodes with radii as small as 3 nm has been developed. Mass-transport rates at these electrodes are a million times larger than macroscopic electrodes, greatly enhancing electrical signal processing in small sample volumes.
Implications
These electrodes are being used both in fundamental investigations of very fast electron-transfer reactions and in chemical sensing applications.
