Three-dimensional Micro- And Nanobatteries
Description
Arranging large arrays of anodes and cathodes in a 3D geometry reduces power losses associated with conventional 2D thin film batteries. We have modeled, designed and fabricated working 3D batteries using microlithographic and advanced materials fabrication methods.
Implications
Three-dimensional micro- and nanobatteries are being developed for MEMS power and Department of Defense applications.
